Your voice is a musical instrument that will get better with solid training. That’s where voice lessons come in! A good teacher will help your voice become flexible so you can sing with ease, expression, and joy in any musical genre. Voice lessons will help you to find strength and depth in your voice and confidence in your ability to sing anything handed to you.
I focus on teaching musical theatre, contemporary, and classical voice. I specialize in building young voices from the ground up and preparing singers for auditions, performances, and college admissions auditions.
Some of my students’ accomplishments are listed below:
- Been accepted to colleges and universities
- Been accepted into State and Regional choirs

- Successfully completed the Royal Conservatory of Music examinations
- Confidently performed at recitals, concerts, and sporting events
What happens at voice lessons?
You will learn to sing with healthy vocal technique, which we usually do through vocal and breathing exercises. You will learn songs which are appropriate for your age and skill level that will allow us to put your technique into practice. You will be coached for auditions, roles in shows, or other performances. And most importantly, you will gain confidence in your voice and abilities.
About Your Teacher
Jessica Walch has been studying the voice for over 15 years. She holds both bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Muhlenberg College and master’s degree from Montclair State University. She has trained classically and in musical theatre and contemporary styles, which equips her to teach everything from an opera aria to a big belty musical theatre piece. Jessica believes in cross-training the voice to be able to sing in multiple styles, because a flexible and versatile voice is going to serve any modern singer best. She teaches using the principles of Somatic Voicework™. Jessica actively participates in the National Association of Teachers of Singing and regular professional development, including attending professional conferences and training. She has participated in two Voice Teacher Mentorship programs through NATS and is always learning more to become a better educator and performer. Jessica is a native of New Jersey and lives in Essex County with her husband.
